These Terms govern your use of Capsule — AI Cycle Tracker. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Capsule is a menstrual cycle tracking application that helps users monitor their cycle, symptoms, intimacy, vitamins, and wellness. The App offers optional AI-powered features that provide personalized wellness tips based on your cycle data, as well as optional features for Apple Health integration, biometric lock, and partner sharing.
You must meet the minimum age requirement as determined by your local jurisdiction to use Capsule. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You may use Capsule without creating an account. All data will be stored locally on your device. If you choose to sign in (via Sign in with Apple or email), your data will be synced to our cloud service for backup and cross-device access. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.
Capsule's AI features use a third-party service. AI-generated content is not medical advice.
AI features are powered by Claude AI, developed by Anthropic, PBC (anthropic.com). Anthropic is an independent company not affiliated with Capsule.
Before any data is sent to the AI service, the App will request your explicit consent. You may decline — the App will function normally without AI features. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings.
When you use AI features, the following data is transmitted: current cycle phase, cycle day, average cycle and period duration, symptoms you have logged for the current day, and — only if you have enabled Health sync — recent Apple Health metrics (sleep, steps, resting heart rate). Intimacy logs, free-form notes, and partner-mode data are never transmitted to the AI service.
Anthropic operates under a Zero Data Retention policy for Capsule requests. Your data is not stored after generating a response and is not used for model training.
Capsule allows you to log information about sexual activity. This is a sensitive and entirely optional feature.
Intimacy logs are not a form of contraception, STI prevention, or medical family planning. Capsule does not assist in sexual health decisions; consult a qualified healthcare professional.
When you enable Health sync, Capsule reads (but never writes) the following data from Apple Health: sleep hours, step count, and resting heart rate. Health data is used only to display alongside your daily log in the App, and may optionally be shared with the AI service if you have granted AI consent.
You may revoke Health access at any time through the iOS Settings app (Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Capsule) or within Capsule's Settings.
Capsule includes an optional Partner Mode, which allows you to share a limited read-only summary of your cycle with a partner who has their own Capsule account. Partner Mode shares:
Partner Mode does not share intimacy logs, free-form journal notes, medication records, or detailed symptom data. You may disconnect Partner Mode at any time from Settings, which immediately revokes your partner's access.
Capsule is a wellness tool, not a medical device, and has not been reviewed by any health authority (FDA, CE, BfArM, or otherwise). The App, including its AI-generated content, does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. AI tips are for informational and educational purposes only.
Capsule is not a method of contraception or fertility planning. Predictions are probabilistic estimates based on historical data you enter, and they are not a reliable basis for preventing or achieving pregnancy.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions. Do not rely on Capsule for medical emergencies or clinical decisions. If you experience unusual symptoms, seek professional medical help.
Capsule offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Capsule Plus") managed through Apple's App Store.

All content, design, code, and branding in Capsule are the property of Capsule and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. "Noa" is the name of our AI assistant feature. You may not use our trademarks, copy App designs, or create derivative works without prior written permission.
Journal entries, logged data, and notes created by you remain your property; you grant Capsule only the license necessary to store and sync them on your behalf.
Capsule is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to health decisions, contraception or fertility-related decisions, or emotional distress. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding any claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer protection law.
You may stop using Capsule at any time by deleting the App. You can delete your account and all cloud data from Settings → "Delete Account". We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, including fraudulent subscription activity or abuse of Partner Mode.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated in the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Consumer protection rights under your local law are not affected. Any disputes shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation; unresolved disputes may be referred to the competent court in the developer's jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence.
Where you download Capsule from the App Store, you acknowledge that:
